Some hauntings feel like home.

“Do you want that, with me? Not just being alive, but starting a family,” I asked softly, biting my lip. I wanted to say yes, but after all these years, this was our first conversation that lasted longer than a few struggled sentences. Could he possibly feel the same way?

“More than anything.”

My eyes snapped up, meeting his. What color were they? They were dark, deep, but I couldn’t tell the color through the blue shimmer of his corporeal ghost form. I wanted to see that color looking back at me from the face of a small child, snuggled between us.

A future where we could be together, a family, defying the odds life and this town had given us, had only one answer.

And that answer had always been, yes.
